Marion Jane Simpson Disney, 90, lately of Pt. Richey, passed away at Gulfside Hospice House on March 26, 2025.
Marion, was true Florida cracker, was born March 3, 1935 in Ft. Myers and graduated from Ft. Myers High School in 1953.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Elsie Simpson; sisters Elsie Ray Kramer and Olive Williams; son Glynn Williams; and three husbands, Guy Williams (1968), Max Yarbrough (1979), and Daryle Disney (2014).
She is survived by son Guy (& Sharon) Williams of Conroe, TX; daughter Lysa (& Joey) Clark of Port Richey, FL; stepsons Randy (& JD) of San Antonia, TX, Dwight Disney of N. Ft. Myers, FL, and Todd Disney of Williston, FL; grandchildren Justin (& Christine) Williams of New Waverly, TX, Joshue (& Marinda) Williams of Norman, OK, Zackary (& Becca) Williams of Mt. Carmel, TN, and Stephen Disney of Riverview, FL; and 8 greatgrandchildren.
As a devoted member of the Church of Christ, Marion enjoyed sharing her faith. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, putting puzzles together, and coloring. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening and home improvement projects. There was no task she was not willing to tackle. She loved to paint and shocked all her neighbors when she painted the outside of her house and Daryle’s garage at the age of 80. Frugality was a strong character trait and her family often shared stories of her wild money saving ideas.
After her sons left for college, Marion went to Cosmetology school and opened her own beauty shop in Ft. Myers.
She spent her last few years living with her loving daughter, Lysa (& Joey) in Port Richey.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulfside Healthcare Services (Hospice).
