Mark S. Horstmeyer, age 55, of Dunnellon, FL (formerly of Harlan, IN) passed away on April 4 at Citrus Hospice in Lecanto, Florida.The memorial service will be held at 2pm on April 16 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana with Pastor John Stube officiating. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church from 3 to 5 immediately following the service. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, Florida (352)489-2429.
Mark was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Nov 30, 1960. He graduated from Carroll High School and went on to receive his bachelors degree in accounting from Indiana University. Mark is the son of the late Richard Horstmeyer and Barbara (Huber) Horstmeyer. He was married to Judy (Krueckeberg) in 1986 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven, IN; they were married for 29 years. Mark was self employed and owned 33 Aquarium and Backyard Pools by Design. He had worked in the pool business since he was 15 years old. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was actively involved at Ascension Lutheran Church for over 20 years, holding the offices of Chairman of the Board of Elders and Chairman of the Congregation. He was also a chairman for the sanctuary building project. In 2015 he retired and moved to Dunnellon, Florida. Mark is survived by his wife Judy of Dunnellon, FL; his daughter Hannah of Houston, TX;  his sons  Paul of Chicago, IL  and  Jason of Fort Wayne, IN; his mother Barbara Horstmeyer and brothers Dr. Rick Horstmeyer (Kathleen), Dr. Gregg Horstmeyer (Joyce) and Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer along with 2 nieces and 4 nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his brother Philip Horstmeyer and father Richard Horstmeyer. Memorial donations may be given to Ascension Lutheran church and school: 8811 St Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
