Mark Timothy Oxford, 67, passed away on October 9, 2024, at Cates Hospice House in Ocala, FL. Born on August 6, 1957, in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Paul Thomas Oxford, Jr. and Betty Ann (Barrow) Oxford.
Mark’s family moved to Pensacola, FL, when he was two, and he later lived in Plantation, Longboat Key, before settling in Brandon, where he graduated high school. In 1984, he relocated to Ocala, working for Diebold Company, where he met his wife, Marsha, first as a customer and a couple years later while repairing an ATM at her branch. They married in 1986 and made their home in Dunnellon in 1992.
A passionate water enthusiast, Mark earned his Captain’s License (six-pack license) and loved taking people on fishing charters. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, and maintaining his home.
Mark is survived by his wife of 38 ½ years, Marian Marsha Oxford; his son, Keith Allen Oxford; his daughter, Laura Ann Oxford; his sister, Kay Ann Leuang; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Thomas Oxford, III, and Robert Terry Oxford. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9, 2024 from 12-5 PM in the home of Marsha Oxford in Dunnellon.
