Mary Elizabeth (Dove) Carter

Mary Elizabeth Carter, 79 years of age, passed on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at her residence in Dunnellon, Florida.

Mary was born on June 24, 1942 in Norfolk, England to Henry and Elsie Dove. She was the youngest of two daughters. Her sister, Nancy West still resides in Norfolk, England, as well as many other family members.

Mary married Michael Carter on March 6, 1964. Two sons were born Paul and Steven Carter. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and two children in 1972. At first, they lived in Chambersburg, PA, but after enduring some cold winters they finally settled in Dunnellon, Florida.  Mary really enjoyed central Florida because its country lifestyle reminded her of her childhood home in England.

She is survived by her husband, Michael and her sons, Paul and Steven. She also has six  grandchildren, Debbie, Chris, Timothy, Stevany, James, and Victoria and five great grandchildren Taylor, Camron, Zachary, Lucian, and Jack.  They will all miss their “Nana” very much.

Mary served her community for 20 years as a teacher’s assistant at Romeo Elementary School.  She retired in 2003, and spent the reminder of her life enjoying cooking, puzzling, and being with her friends & family.

Mary will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
