Mary M. Hammock McDaniel, 89 of Dunnellon, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Legacy House in Ocala. Mary was born on Feb. 22, 1922 to the late Walter I. and Mary M. (Parker) Coombs and resided in Dunnellon for more than 70 years coming from her native Birmingham, Ala.
She was a homemaker and member of the Dunnellon Church of Christ. Mary attended Miss Howard’s Private School for Girls in Birmingham and later attended F.S.U. College for Women. She was a devout Christian and loved her family.
Survivors include her son, William (Darlene) Hammock of Dunnellon; two daughters, Nancy (Gene) Patton of Ocala and Virginia Waller of Hernando; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Clarence Hammock and Leroy McDaniel; a sister, Virginia Lane Coombs.
Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County. Arrangements are under the care of Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon.
