Mary Joyce Scally

Mary Joyce Scally, 87, was a loving Mother, Wife, Sister, and Grandmother, who died unexpectedly on July 22, 2025, at Advent Health in Ocala, FL. She was born in Tampa, FL on August 9, 1937, and was the daughter to the late George Angus Mills and Corrie Mills Miller of Dunnellon Fl. She and her Husband moved up to Dunnellon from Tampa in the late 70’S and their eight children moved here shortly after. While living in Dunnellon, Mary and her husband Stan and most of their children opened, and operated the Front Porch Restaurant and Pie Shop, in which today is a Dunnellon staple. They were business minded people who started from nothing and had a great appreciation for what they and their children had and created.  Most people who knew Mary called her mom, so she probably had many inherited children. She was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed. Mary was an Artist. Mary enjoyed painting, arts and crafts and Shopping, but most importantly, she loved Jesus and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley James Scally Jr; her daughters, Kathleen Scally Cunningham, Deborah Scally Pricher and Son, Stanley James Scally, III; her sister, Corrie Leath Jarrett, also from Dunnellon.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Gail Scally Barr, Robert A Scally, Donna Scally Sowell, Jennifer Scally, and Kellie Scally all of Dunnellon; her four son in laws whom she loved very much; Phillip Cunningham, Neil Pricher, Michael Barr, Terry Sowell, all of Dunnellon Fl. Her brother, George A. Mills, Atlanta, GA; Her sisters, Georgia Lee Kish, and Pat Porter Edwards both of Dunnellon; Her fourteen grandchildren, Thirty-three great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 3PM at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. There will be a public visitation held on the same day starting at 1PM until service time.
