Melvin George Stockum, age 76, of Dunnellon Florida, passed away suddenly on September 5, 2015. He was born in Camden, New Jersey, on January 20, 1939, and was married to June Haas Stockum for 39 years. He is survived by his nieces Bonnie Norris of Rio Rancho New Mexico, Linda Mendez of Royal Palm Beach Florida, Joan Stockum of Los Alamos New Mexico, and Donna Caudell of Royal Palm Beach Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife June, his brother Kenneth Stockum and his parents Lester and Elizabeth Stockum. He graduated from high school in Moorestown New Jersey in 1957 and worked as a construction estimator and manager for many years. He also studied engineering at Temple University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Over the years he enjoyed multiple hobbies including music, hunting, boating, fishing, skiing, photography, and gardening especially orchids and fruit trees. His most recent passion was karaoke and he became well known in local karaoke circles. He was a loving and caring person who will truly be missed by all.
