Michael James Roof, Sr.

Michael James Roof, Sr, of Dunnellon Florida lovingly known as Papa Roof, born November 20, 1950 passed away peacefully at AdventHealth Ocala on April 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Harold Sr and Frances Roof, his brother Harold Roof Jr, and son Michael Roof Jr. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Debbie, his children Kimberly Roof, Derek Roof, Donny Roof, Megan Roof, and Courtney Cason. His siblings Penny, Stevie, Kevin and Stu. Many grandchildren, and great grandchildren who he loved fiercely.

Michael retired from the United States Air Force after serving for 20 years then moved his family back home to Dunnellon. Michael was known for his hilarious sense of humor, dedication to his family, and passion for watching TV. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, generosity, and warm smile. Michael's presence would light up any room, and he always knew how to make people feel at ease. Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.

Services will be held Monday April 27th at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon Florida at 11am. The family welcomes friends starting at 10am, with family between 830am-10am. Processional to graveside with military honors to follow.
