Born in Warren, Ohio, she grew up on her family farm where they had a roadside fruit market on Rt 45 in the late 1940s to the early 1960s. As a child, one of her fondest memories about living on a farm was walking around the garden and eating a fresh tomato right off the vine.
She graduated in 1966 from Largo High School in Largo, Florida and continued on as a teacher at the PARC Center for Disabilities in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was also a teacher’s aide at the Martin County School System in Florida. She retired in 1993. Millie had a big personality and knew how to make people laugh with her way of quick witted humor. Her smile and laughter were contagious to all, making her friends join along with a smile. She had a love for cats, traveling, Amish culture, holidays, music, gardening, and loved to take care of others with her generosity. A private Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at a later date.
She will be laid to rest by her parents and sister at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
