Miriam E. Ricci, 83, passed away on October 7, 2024, at Cate’s Hospice House in Ocala, Florida. Born on July 15, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Manelick and Isabel (Cordova) Fernandez. Miriam spent her early years in Brooklyn until her family relocated to Englewood, New Jersey, when she was ten.
In the early 1970s, Miriam and her family moved to Miramar, Florida, where she became an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins. She began working part time at the Florida Beverage Company (FBC), and eventually rose to the role of office manager. After the company closed, she continued her career with Marie Brizard USA, retiring in 2004 to enjoy a fulfilling life in Dunnellon with her longtime partner, Albert Biehler.
Miriam was Catholic by faith and an active member of the Rainbow Springs Red Hat Society. She found joy in reading, baking, and cherishing moments with her family and friends. Miriam's warmth, kindness, and spirited banter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Miriam is survived by her daughter, Rena-Marie Bennett (husband Arthur Bennett); her sister, Mildred Fernandez; and her grandchildren, Lindsay Bennett-Guido (husband Christopher Guido) and Nicholas Bennett. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Joseph Ricci, and her brothers, Gilbert and Duncan Fernandez.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on November 9, 2024, at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon.
