N. John "Jack" Thomas

N. JOHN “JACK” THOMAS,  born December 17, 1924 in Buffalo, New York, son of Lila & Ulysses Thomas.  Mr. Thomas was a graduate of Nichols Prep School, Yale College and Harvard Law School.  A member of the U.S. Navy, John was active duty during World War II on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger.  A fifty year member of the Florida & New York Bar Associations, Mr. Thomas was also a Past President, Rotary Fellow and member of the Rotary Club of St. Petersburg West.  Mr. Thomas practiced law in both New York & Florida.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances, daughter Amy & Son-in-Law Steve Brown of Inverness, Bill & Betty Copeland, Nina Copeland, Louisa Gerking, Tim Fenton, Steve Burke and numerous nieces & nephews.  Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and Fred Copeland.  A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Community Congregational Church in Citrus Springs.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills at 2:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Building Fund of the Community Congregational Church of Citrus Springs or to the charity of choice.  Condolences may be sent to robertsofdunnellon.com.  Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon.
