Nancy Ann Mottola

Nancy Ann Mottola, 90, died on June 12, 2023 at Cate’s House in Ocala, FL. She was born on October 29, 1932 in Tuxedo, NY and was the daughter to the late Michael DeSimone and Carmela (Malone). Nancy and her husband, Carmine moved to Dunnellon thirty-nine years ago from Tuxedo, NY, following her retirement as a Registered Nurse. She and her husband traveled and had the opportunity to see many different areas of the United States in their motorhome. She was a parishioner with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon attending the 10:30 Mass on Sundays and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Tuxedo, NY. When Nancy and her husband moved to Dunnellon they were members and very active with Rainbow Springs Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed many rounds of golf with her nine-holers ladies’ group. She also loved to swim, whether it was at the river or at the gym (To Your Health Spa), walking, cooking, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Sima and her husband, John; her brother Sam DeSimone and his wife, Barbara.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of sixty five years, Carmine Mottola, of Dunnellon;  her children, Donna Simon and her husband, Joel, of Montvale, NJ, and their daughter, Alicia, son, David, and his wife, Laura;  Lisa Rea and her husband, Mike, of Syracuse, NY, and their daughter, Jamie, and son, Michael;  Michael Mottola, of Dunnellon;  and Paul Mottola and his wife, Wanice, of Los Angeles, CA, and their son, Anthony, and daughter, Mayawa, and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 1:30 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon.
