Nancy L. Steinbrecher (née Horn), age 74, of Clinton Township, Michigan, and formerly of Troy, Michigan. Nancy passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2024. Nancy was born on June 14, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to her late parents Frank and Emma (née Dugan) Horn. Throughout her life, she embodied warmth, creativity, and a zest for adventure. Nancy loved to travel, taking cruises to various destinations and visiting Disney parks, where she was always enchanted by the magic. Her passion for collecting Victorian-style antiques and ceramic dolls was well-known among her family and friends. She also had a gift for cooking and baking, which she used to bring people together, creating memories that will be cherished forever. As a former business owner in the catering and cake baking industry, Nancy was renowned for her exceptional wedding cakes, earning a reputation for her artistry and dedication. She was the life of every party, with a magnetic personality that made her beloved by all who met her. Whether she was making friends while traveling or at home, her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wesley, and her siblings James, Mary, Toni, and Peggy. She is survived by many wonderful friends and her loving children, Wesley Steinbrecher, Bradley (Stacie) Steinbrecher, Melissa Rybicki, Timothy (Theresa Cleary) Steinbrecher, and Anthony (Laura) Babowicz. Nancy was also the cherished grandmother of Devin, Evelyn, Jacob, Emma, Gabriella, Lily, Molly, Shelby, and Bailey, and a proud great-grandmother to Aceyn.
Nancy's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Nancy's life with a visitation and funeral service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 12-5pm and a funeral service on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 12 (Noon).
Nancy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Florida National Cemetery Bushnell, Florida.
