Neil Campbell Carter passed away Wednesday, August 3rd after bravely battling cancer.  Neil was born on February 28, 1945 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was the second child of James and Christina Carter. Neil married Kathryn Studders in 1969 and had two children, Leslie and Geoff.  He worked as a financial manager for the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan for over thirty years before retiring to Citrus Springs, Florida.

Neil was a true athlete and enjoyed competition. Golf was not a hobby to Neil but a part of his nature as a Scotsman and something he enjoyed every day. He also excelled and competed in many sports, including basketball, softball, tennis, and hockey, but his favorite thing to do in his free time was golf.  Neil was a scratch golfer who qualified for several Senior Pro Golf tournaments and spent much of his retirement perfecting his game.

Neil was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He loved to travel, enjoyed good food and wine, and especially loved teasing his family and friends with his unique sense of humor.

A family memorial will take place at a later date.  Donations in memoriam may be made to Citrus County – Nature Coast Hospice House in Lecanto.
