Olga M. Machado

Dunnellon- Olga Mercedes Machado, 89, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 in Hialeah, FL. She is survived by her husband of 70yrs, Jose Antonio “Tony” Machado, Hialeah, FL formerly of Dunnellon; her children, Lucia Carone, Massapequa Park, NY, Douglas Machado, Hialeah, FL and Rev. Jose  Machado, Jr., Robbinsdale, MN ; her grandchildren, Lucy, Patrick, Douglas, Sylvia, Christina, Jose, Aiyana, Naima and her great grandchildren, Trey, Jacquie, Isaac, Gabriel, Calvin, Zoe, Ezekial, Tabitha, Yajaira and many nieces and nephews.

Olga is preceded in death by her brothers, Frederick Harrington and Cesar Harrington.

She was born on July 30, 1926 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Frederick and Mercedes (Lopez) Harrington. Olga moved with her husband Tony to Dunnellon in 1983 from Jamaica, NY. She was  a Bi-Lingual  Executive Secretary for Jonas Aircraft Export Company for many years. During her time in Dunnellon she was very active with the Catholic Community of St. John the Baptist Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Minister to the sick. Olga also was a member of the AARP chapter 357 of Rainbow Lakes Estates and a certified American Red Cross community CPR and community first aid and safety as well as C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team).

Olga's family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, March 4, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Catholic Community of St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 AM. Following the Mass there will be a light lunch served in the church hall and all are invited to eat and share memories. She will be Entombed at the Chapel Mausoleum in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL.
