Paul Thomas Fata

Paul Thomas (Ippolito Casiano) Fata, caring husband, father, and grandfather lost his courageous battle with cancer on October 18, 2022 at age 66. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lorraine Susan (Manning). She was his rock and best friend. She stood shoulder to shoulder with him through life’s battles, and triumphs, as well as through good times and bad.

Lorraine gave him four wonderful children, Andrea Teresa Ballard, Scott Paul Fata, Gabriel Mathew Fata, and Paula Claire Fata (Christopher Baily). Paul was a proud “Pop Pop” to his three grandchildren, Lucas Warren Ballard, Dylan Casimir Ballard, and Dorian Paul Fata. He is also survived by his seven siblings, Joseph Fata (Michelle), Thomas Fata (Suzzana), Anthony Fata (Liana), Steven Fata (Karlee), Annette Knapp (Dennis), Celeste Bishop (Michael), Angela Buckmaster (Tarek), his brother-in-law Bruce Manning (Lori), his mother, Teresa Fata, and mother-in-law Claire Manning. Preceded in death by his father, Ernest Fata, and father-in-law Warren Manning.

Paul was involved in various business ventures throughout his life and owned and operated Mac’s Bar for thirteen years. Paul was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan but always considered North Central Florida his true home.

Paul will always be remembered for the unconditional love he showed his family and his bottomless generosity for everyone around him. He will also be remembered for his quick wit, amazing sense of humor, and his unending love and interest of the accordion, which was his favorite instrument.

A memorial service will be held for Paul on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the First Methodist Church of Dunnellon, 21501 West Highway 40, Dunnellon, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to The American Cancer Society.
