Ray Jowers, 87, passed away on
June 11, 2016, at his home in
Rainbow Springs with Betty,
his wife of 39 years at his side.
Ray was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, grew up in Daytona Beach where he attended Mainland High School and went on to attend the University of Florida. He was a WWII Veteran serving in Japan.
After 31 years with Bellsouth, he retired from Miami as a Staff Manager in engineering.
He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Juliene, stepson Darrell, sister Sherrill and brothers Herb and Jim and five grandchildren.
Ray was very active in the art community. He was fluent in watercolor, Pen & Ink, Drawing and Digital Photography. Ray was a member and former officer in the Ocala Art Group, 1st VP and Program Director currently at the Citrus Watercolor Club, the Nature Coast Painters and also started the Rainbow Springs Art Show.
Ray was loved very much by his family and we will miss him greatly.
