Richard "Dick" G. Howard

Dunnellon,FL and formerly of Hingham, MA -Richard “Dick” G. Howard, 77, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his residence in Dunnellon following a lengthy illness. He leaves behind his wife, Janice M. Howard, Dunnellon; his daughters, Tracey Crosby, Hingham, MA and Diane Kruschke (Robert) Crystal River, FL; his brothers, Donald Howard, Hanson, MA and John Howard, Sparks, NV; his grandchildren, Savanna Crosby, Joshua Crosby, Amanda Crosby and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Whiteway and Linda Costello.
Richard was born on April 17, 1939 in Milford, MA to the late Glenn and Margaret (Dorr) Howard. Dick grew up in Hingham, MA and upon marriage he resided in Pembroke, MA for thirty six years. He was formerly employed with High Vacuum Equipment and XL technology in Rockland, MA. Richard moved to Florida in 2004 and made his home in Pine Ridge, Beverly Hills in where he was active in the Beverly Hills recreational center, playing billiards and tennis. He also enjoyed playing golf and pickleball. In 2012 he and his wife, Janice decided to move and make their new home in Dunnellon's Spruce Creek Preserve. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 12:30 PM at the Dunnellon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. His family will be receiving relatives and friends at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon prior to Graveside Service starting at 11:00 AM until 12 noon.
His family prefers in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Florida Cancer Specialists: 521 N. Lecanto Hwy, Lecanto, FL 34461.
