Richard A. (Sonny) Nessler, Jr., 76, of Rainbow Springs, FL, formerly of Garden City, NY, passed away September 30, 2012, under the loving care of his wife Virginia.
He was born October 21, 1935 to Helen and Richard Nessler, Sr. in Brooklyn NY, grew up in Queens, NY and graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Richmond Hill High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
He was admitted to the NY Stock Exchange in March 1965. He became Senior Vice President with the firm of Wedbush, Noble and Cooke. He was a member of the Button Wood Club since 1986. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, playing cards, dancing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia (Snyder) Nessler, Daughters: Susan (Steve) Narbutt, Kathleen (William) Doherty; Sons: Richard (Patricia) Nessler, Scott (Margaret) Nessler; Grandchildren: Billy, Emily, Kevin, Ashley, Richard, The Twins Andrew and Erin, all of Long Island, New York. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Wallace and Granddaughter Melissa.
The Family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 3, at The Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, FL. A funeral; Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dunnellon with Father Kevin MacGabhann officiating.
