Robert John Beardmore

Bob Beardmore, 84, was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  As a career military man, first in the US Air Force, then the Army, he traveled the world with his family before settling down in Ocala as the city’s first Director of Human Resources.  Bob did one tour of duty in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart.  Bob enjoyed fishing, playing cards, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara, sons Gary, Randy, Jeff, and Wendell; daughter Judy; grandchildren Kenny, Keith, Kerrie, Alex, Ariel, Zac, Heather, Parker, Noah, Tiffany, Brice, Ariana, Sebastian, Kenley, Gavin, and Ella.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Jane.  Bob was a dedicated husband, father, and friend.  He was strong willed, capable, and gave so much to those around him.  He had a marvelous sense of humor.  The greatest man we knew, he will be dearly missed by all and always in our thoughts and in our heart.  Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon.  His remains will be placed in Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL  34478.
