Robert G. Englert, 66, Dunnellon, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 31 at Munroe Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Buffalo, New York, worked for General Motors for 30 years as a Tinsmith. After retiring in 2006 he and his wife relocated to Dunnellon.
Bob was well known for his dry wit and respected by many for his laid back attitude and his one of a kind personality. His sense of humor will always make us laugh for time to come.
Bob was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. "Brother Bob" and his NASCAR buddies were regular fixtures at the annual Daytona 500 where he will remain in spirit. He also enjoyed restoring his father's 1972 Thunderbird, camping, helping others with his handyman expertise. He was a member of the UAW Local 774 & Sheet Metalworkers Local 71 both of Buffalo, New York and the Port Orange, Florida Eagle’s.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:30 am, Saturday,June 9th, 2012, at the Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon.
He most enjoyed spending quality time with his Family and Friends. His survivors include his Wife, Poopsie (Lisa), Sons: Robert (Patty) Englert, Daniel Englert and Thomas (Jennifer) Schiedel; Daughters: Karen (Tom) Broderick, Sarah (Mark) Long and Lauren Schiedel (Dana) and 5 Grandchildren: Cheyenne, Justin, Jacob, Nickolis and Logan.
