Robert Woods Merritt

US Navy WWII Veteran, Robert Woods Merritt, age 89, died on September 25, 2015 at Legacy Hospice in Ocala, FL.
He was born into this life on February 19, 1926 in Jenkinsburg, Georgia. He is survived by his sons, Glenn C. and Robert Merritt; grandfather to Kimberly Merritt Spencer, Michele Merritt, Torrance, CA, Elise Merritt, Ryan Merritt and Glenn Merritt, Piscataway, NJ.

Robert was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and was employed by the National Lead Company which later became NL Industries in New York and New Jersey as a production manager and chief engineer in the metals division until his retirement in 1984.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church: 7201 S. US Hwy 41, Dunnellon, FL 34432. There will be a public Visitation on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry, GA on Thursday at 2 PM .
