Robert David Pallesen, 76, Ocala, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was born in The Bronx, NY, was a manager in the automobile manufacturing industry and moved to Ocala in 1987 from Los Lunas, NM.
Robert was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam serving proudly for 23 years with The United States Marine Corps. He was a member of The American Legion Post #58 Dunnellon, The VFW and The Marine Corp Fleet Reserve.
He enjoyed playing golf and accomplished two (2) Hole-In-Ones, the first in Lamar, CO, October 1985 and on his 70th birthday in 2006 he achieved his second at Rainbow Springs, Dunnellon, FL; roller skating, baseball (especially the Yankees), and caring for his horses; most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his Wife, Children and especially his Grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Betty; Sons: Kevin (Josie) Pallesen, Houston, TX; Robert D. (Iona) Pallesen, Jr., Albuquerque, NM; Keith (Beth) Pallesen, Mackay, Queensland, Australia; Daughters: Laurie Pallesen, Dunnellon; Malulani Grantham, Fayetteville, NC; Leilani (Ty) Letcher, St. Petersburg, FL; Sister: Betty Lynn, Orlando, FL; 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dunnellon with Father Kevin MacGabhan Celebrant. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 13, 2012 with an American Legion Ceremony at 6:00 and The Wake Service at 7:00 pm at The Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, FL. Inurnment will be 10:00 am Friday, November 16, 2012 at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors provided by the Crystal River American Legion Honor Guard.
