Ron Hough

Dunnellon

Charles Ronald “RON” Hough, 79 of Dunnellon, passed away suddenly and altogether too soon on June 2, 2021.

He was born in Iowa and along with his 4 siblings had a wonderful childhood on the family farm in Underwood, Iowa where he participated in the 4 H Club raising his favorite lamb called “ Alimony.”

He started running on the local cross-country team with his brother Bob who inspired his love of running. He became a championship runner then and also when he moved to Florida where at one point he was ranked fourth in the state Masters Division. He would place in many of the races he ran and he had a house full of trophies to prove it.

He subsequently attended Dana College in Nebraska where he was forged into a fervent Husker fan.

He so enjoyed other sports and was passionate about the Yankees and Buccaneers

Around 1980 he permanently relocated to the central Florida area where he has worked as a construction contractor and was very proud of the hand that he had in building and remodeling businesses that still exist today in downtown Ocala.

Ron loved to travel and visited 6 out of the 7 continents. He enjoyed learning about other cultures and trying different cuisines.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Max and Lavon Hough.

He is survived by his wife Gisela (nee Trigo), his children Jennifer and Ron,4 grandchildren and a great grandson.

Ron's memory will be cherished by his siblings Bob (Alyce), Evelyn, Erma, Jan (Spike), and numerous extended family including nieces , nephews and longtime friends.
