Ronald E. Balser

Ronald E. Balser, Petty Officer First Class, USN (Ret.), age 54, unexpectedly passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home in Dunnellon, Florida. Ron, or Ronnie, as he was known, was born December 11, 1968, in Waukegan, Illinois.

Moving to Albuquerque, NM at a young age, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy following high school, where he served for 20 years.  During his naval career, he was stationed in Norfolk, VA, Jacksonville, FL, and Brunswick, ME.  Ron was fortunate to visit many places in Europe from multiple deployments.

Upon retirement, Ron and his family returned to Florida where he enjoyed a home life with his dogs. Fishing was his favorite pastime which provided Ron with many friends who shared this passion, even starting a fishing club.

Ron is survived by his father, Bob Balser, and his mother, Cheryl Norman; his wife of 21 years, Zoe Ann; His two sons, Darrel and Nicholas; Grandson Landon and granddaughter Everlee; Siblings Robert and his wife Sheila, Randall and his wife Paula, Mark Miske, and Theresa Gallegos; stepson Shane Van Noordt; several aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces; and many friends and loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held at the home of family friend Debbie Sapp, 21201 SW Plantation Street, Dunnellon, FL 34431. The US Navy honor guard will perform a final send-off at 1:pm sharp.
