Roy Marler was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 18, 1945. His family moved to Miami, Florida when he was 2 years old.
Roy passed away on March 20, 2025. He was married to Charlotte Carlin Marler for 60 years.
He has a son Gary Marler and daughter Pamela Lynn Dawson. Grandchildren: Stephanie Roche, Thomas Lindquist, Alexandra Bennett, Jordan Marler, Drew Dawson, and Nicole Baylor. He has nine great grandchildren.
He is survived by brother, Walter Marler, sister, Lenda Traut. Was preceded in death by Mary Ann Marler.
He owned Royal Upholstering in Orlando, Florida for 42 years. He had many famous clients through designers, such as Tiger Woods, Tyra Banks, Pete Sampras, Mark Martin, Ken Griffey Jr., Alan Jackson, and many more.
Roy was an entertainer also. He opened shows for Mel Tillis, Marty Robbins, and about 30
other stars of country music. He was Entertainer of the Year for the Florida Country Music Association in 1991. Vocal Duo of the Year for the Florida Country Music Association in 1990,
1991 and 1992.
He was a die hard fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Orlando Magic. He loved to golf.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He served as Governor of the Dunnellon Lodge. He also was the District President.
Roy was a good friend to many and will be missed by all.
