Ruth Louise (Army) Scherler

Ruth L. Scherler, 93, of Seminole, Florida passed away peacefully December 12, 2019.  She was born August 27, 1926 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late James and Louise Army.  Preceded in death by her husband George Scherler, and son, Bruce Wright (Carla).  She is survived by sons Barry Wright and David Rawling; daughter-in-law Carla Wright (Bruce); her granddaughter Jessica Mullin and husband Brian and her three great grandsons, Matthew Mullin, Samuel Mullin and Jacob Mullin.  Ruth is also survived by her “adopted” Florida family, Rich and Sally Ewald; Sally’s father Ted Lenac; grandchildren Ali Shafer-Ewald (Joseph), Amy Ewald (Alyssa), and Richie Ewald (Caeli); great grandchildren Cadence, JoJo, Teddy, and Wesley Shafer-Ewald.  Most of Ruth’s professional career was spent at various hospitals in South Florida as a LPN.  Roberts Funeral Home will ship Ruth’s cremated remains to her longtime friends Sandy and Wayne Foster and family, the owners of Foster Funeral Home-Crematory, Huron, Ohio.  There she will be reunited with her beloved husband George and his mother Dorothy.  Her final wish was to have all their ashes scattered in Lake Erie.  The location and time of a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice of Clearwater, FL.
