Ruth Henderson, wife of Dr. Brooks Henderson, passed away June 6 at her home, Oak Hammock, in Gainesville, FL in the presence of her family. She was a former resident of Dunnellon and Ocala. Starting from a one room school house, she became a registered nurse and later was President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Florida Medical Association. She is survived by her husband, three children, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Ruth enjoyed singing in the choir of her church, in the Chorus at Oak Hammock, and participating in charities, most recently Ocala Royal Dames. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ocala Royal Dames for Cancer Research or your preferred charity.
