Rainbow Springs- Sanford C. Medford, 83, died on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Legacy Hospice House in Ocala. Mr. Medford was born on April 20, 1930 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Sanford and Louella (McAfee) Medford.
Sanford moved to the Dunnellon area about twenty seven years ago from Virginia where he retired with the U.S. Government . He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the American Legion Post#58 of Dunnellon as well as a mason with the Kennesaw Lodge #33. He proudly served our country with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Airforce.
He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Sue Medford, Dunnellon; his daughter, Sherri Rose and her husband, Eddie Rose, Ocala, FL. and his sister, Jean Richards, Cleveland, GA. We Love you and we will miss you until we meet again.
A Celebration of Sanford’s life will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Eddie Fulford and the VFW Post# 10209 of Spring Hill officiating.
Memorial Contributions can be made in Mr. Medford’s memory to Hospice of Marion County or the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon.
