Sherry Gail (Gaines) Schmitt

Rainbow Springs- Sherry Gail Schmitt, 69, Homemaker, died suddenly on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at her residence in Dunnellon. She leaves behind her husband of fifty three years, Larry W. Schmitt, Dunnellon, FL; her son, Brian  Schmitt and her daughter, Stephanie Earle both of Evansville, IN; her sister, Maureen Schaftlien, Greensboro, NC; her granddaughter, Jessie Earle, Evansville, IN and many nieces, nephews and friends. Sherry was born in Greenville,Kentucky and raised in southern Indiana. She was the daughter to the late Carlie and Thelma (Mallory) Gaines. Sherry moved to Dunnellon about three and half years ago from Evansville. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Evansville and occasionally attended First Baptist Church in Dunnellon. Sherry enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and loved her dog Mr. Baxter. She will be greatly missed and her memory will continue to live in our hearts.

There will be a memorial gathering at the Schmitt residence in Rainbow Springs on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2-5 PM.
