Shirley S. Keiper of Dunnellon, Florida, played her last hole of golf and threw the final trump card on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Shirley was born on September 11, 1934, in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Charles and Gertrude Satchwell. Along with being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley was an avid golfer, bridge player, and accomplished businesswoman.   Shirley was united in marriage with Tilghman (“Ted”) Henry Keiper, Jr., on August 20, 1955 in Roanoke, Virginia, and they enjoyed 43 years together. Shirley completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1956, and began a career in teaching.   Shirley left teaching in 1976 to pursue a second career in banking retiring from PNC bank in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania in 1993.

Shirley is survived by her three children, Ann Keiper-Smith, Tilghman (“Hank”) Henry Keiper, III, and Carolyn Horowitz; her brother, Charles Satchwell; sister, Dr. Susan Satchwell, and three grandchildren.  Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Ted and two sisters, Louisa Batman and Edith Bonfanti.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Episcopal Church of the Creator, located at 7159 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, Virginia at 1:00pm.  Interment will be held in Harrisburg, PA at a later date. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Holy Faith Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 19924 West Blue Cove Drive, Dunnellon, Florida 34432.
