Stella Barbara (Macro) Shepherd

Stella Barbara Shepherd, 86, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away on December 19th, 2023.

Stella was born on December 9th, 1937 to Arthur and Doris Macro in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.  She was raised with siblings Cedric, Rita, Joan, Thelma, Roger and Beryl.  Their home was filled with love and laughter.

In 1961, she married the love of her life Robert, and they went on to have two children, Michelle and Lisa.  Stella was passionate about motherhood and creating a home filled with love.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother.  When not with family, she passionately advocated and volunteered through various activities supporting our Veterans.  We will miss her greatly, her sense of humor, zest for Bingo with her friends and her sweet voice calling out “Heyyyyy Honey” to greet those she loved and cared for.

Stella was predeceased by her love Bob in 2018. She is survived by daughters Michelle Bowers, Lisa Chastain (Terry), Granddaughter Danielle Mayeu, Granddaughter Caitlyn Herron (Caleb), Great-Granddaughter Hayli Mayeu, Great-Grandson Colton Herron and Brother-in-Law Charlie Zielonko.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please volunteer or donate to support a veterans cause in Stella’s honor.  A private service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell per her wishes.
