Stephen G. Claffey, 45, of Mayo, Florida, died Friday (8/9) at the home of his mother in Dunnellon, after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Donald James (D.J.) and Kathy Claffey, Stephen was a teacher and soccer coach at Suwanee Middle School.
He was a member of the Triple Creek Hunting Club.
Surviving family includes his mother Kathy; brothers Nick and Mike and his wife Malinda Claffey; sister Dawn Bowne; son William (Billy) Patton; God Father Clifford Kenz; several uncles and aunts including his caregivers Uncle Dennis and Aunt Joyce; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon on Sunday (8/18) 3:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Fulford offiiciating.
