Thelma Lois (Parker) Ripple

August 31, 1929 — March 11, 2018

Lois Ripple, 88, died March 11, 2018, in Dunnellon.

Lois was survived by her sister, Kitty Morrison; her brother, David Parker; her four living children, Bobby Ripple married to Traci; George Ripple married to Phyllis; Lydia Mills and Diane Ripple; her 20 grandchildren; her 40 great-grandchildren; and her 12 great great-grandchildren.

Lois was born Aug. 31, 1929, in the Historical District inside of a Dunnellon home. She graduated from Dunnellon High School in 1947. Lois worked for Dunnellon Lumber for more than 10 years until the day it closed. Not long after, she was hired as an associate at the Dunnellon Walmart and worked there for more than 25 years, finally retiring in March

2017 at the age of 87. Her Walmart family gave her a special photo book on her 80th birthday of her and all her hard work and dedication that she has given to Walmart over the years. She was so proud of it.

The happiest day of Lois’s life was when she brought each one of her five children home. She loved being a mother, a grandmother, great-grandmother and a great great-grandmother. The saddest day of her life was when she lost her father, George Parker; her mother, Thelma Parker; her husband William Ripple Sr  and her first born son, Billy Ripple, but we know now all that sadness is gone as they are all reunited in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lois was passionate about the St Johns Methodist Church in Cotton Plant, Jesus, her family and her work. She was best described as “Grandma,” the sweetest women you could ever know that always had a smile on her face with the warmest hugs and always had to feed you.

Lois was deeply involved in her family. She had a way of making everyone think they were her “favorite.” She showed unconditional love to all. Her hobbies were puzzles, watching “Days of Our Lives,” playing the piano, listening to her gospel music and sewing.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Souls Harbor Church in Dunnellon, with funeral services at 2 at Souls Harbor Church in Dunnellon. Interment will follow in the St. John Methodist Church Cemetery in Cotton Plant.
