Verna (Schmidt) Towner

Verna Schmidt Towner, 90, of Dunnellon, died Monday (12/23) at her residence. She was born February 24, 1923 in Melvin, Iowa to the late Peter and Clara (Ramsey) Schmidt.

Mrs. Towner was a Operator Supervisor with the telephone company and loved traveling and dogs. Her family and friends loved her deeply and will truly miss her.

She was predeceased by husband Harold Towner; sisters Velma Neleigh and Maxine Schmidt; and step daughter Patricia Peters.

Surviving family includes her step-granddaughter Devon Ferdon and step-grandson Michael Peters; step-great granddaughters Sydni Peters and Jenna Ferdon; step-son John Tower; step-daughters Pamela Davis, Janeth Koehler, Cornelia Fader, and Gail Gibson.

A Memorial Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be conducted on Monday (12/30) 6:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, 19939 East Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon (352-489-2429).
