Virginia Florene Cahill

Virginia (Ginny) Florene Cahill, age 87, died peacefully on April 27, 2018, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL, after a prolonged illness.  Virginia was born April 15, 1931 in Cornwall, NY, the daughter of James S. Gazaway and Marie Theresa Anthes.

Ginny graduated from Highland Falls High School in 1948, then began working as a dispatcher for Bear Mountain State Park.  In 1955 she married Michael F. Cahill and began raising a family.  Ginny and Mike moved to Dunnellon, FL in 1978, fulfilling a life dream of living in Florida, and where they lived for the rest of their lives.  He preceded her in death on February 5, 1998.  They were married for 43 years.

Ginny is survived by her three children and their spouses; James (Holly) Cahill, Dadeville, AL, Kathleen (Dave) Staub, Rochester, NY, Mary Sharon (Jose) Betancourt, San Antonio, TX; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Georgia (Jimmy) Wallace, Ft. Montgomery, NY, and Barbara Bott, Highland Falls, NY.

Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, with committal services on Monday, May 8, 2018 at 11:30 AM.
