Walter Lychako, 95, quietly passed away on Saturday July, 14, 2012 at the home of his youngest son, James Lychako in Orlando, Florida.  He was lovingly surrounded by his son James, daughter-in-law Jayne and granddaughter Jenna.

Walter was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1917. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1940, served in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945.  He re-enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired with 20 years of service in 1964 with the rank of CMSGT.  Walter served in the 22nd Armament and Electronic Maintenance Squadron of the Strategic Air Command (SAC).  After retirement, Walter moved his family to Miami, Florida and began working for the United States Postal Service.  He retired again in 1981 and he and his wife Jean moved to Rainbow Lakes Estates, Florida.

In 2001, his loving daughter, Beverly, assisted him in caring for his wife, Jean, who passed away in 2003. During the last year of Walter’s life he was living in Orlando with his youngest son and family.

Walter’s daughter Beverly, son James and wife Jayne, granddaughter Jenna, son Paul and wife Kris, will miss him, but know he is happily reunited with his wife Jean, grandson Steven, and other family and friends who have gone on before him.

Walter and Jean will be buried together at Bushnell National Cemetery where his family will hold a private remembrance.
