Walter Roy Mayes

Walter Roy Mayes, 82, passed Sunday, June 28, 2015 at The Bridge at Ocala assisted living facility.  He was born April 16,1933 in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania to Graham Mayes and Eleanor Johnson Mayes.  He moved to Miami in 1955 from England, then to Dunnellon in the mid 1990's.   Mr. Mayes was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a block mason.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Josephine Mayes, brothers, Gordan Mayes and George Mayes, and sister, Edie Case.  He is survived by his son, John Graham Mayes of Ocala, daughters,  Helen Mayes of Oxford, Gail Pesetski of West Palm Beach, FL, and Chris Bickett of Ocala, brother, William Mayes of Miami, FL, sister,  Toots Weston of Osceola Mills, PA, 4 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon.
