Walter Rike of Reddick, Florida, passed away on November 14, 2013 at his residence in Reddick at the age of 91. He was born in Orlando, Florida on October 20, 1922 to Frank and Alice Glattli and grew up in Otter Creek, Florida. Walter was the owner and operator of Ocala Plumbing Company from 1957 until his retirement in 1978. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mavis. Together they were members of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Rike enjoyed fishing, gardening and working.
Walter is survived by his sons: Kyle Rike and James D. Rike both of Ocala, and son Kenneth W. Rike and daughter, Debbie Trammell both of Reddick. He also leave his brothers Arthur Glattli, Travelers Rest, SC, Andrew Glattli, Trenton, FL, Gary Glattli, Ocala, FL, Noel Glattli, Anthony, FL and sisters Margaret Wright, Trenton, FL, and Theresa Varnadore, of Ocala. Along with 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. His sister Louise Salerno preceded him in death.
Funeral Services for Mr. Rike will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, November 18 from 5 to 7 PM.
