William Biancamano

March 3, 1931 — January 7, 2025

William Biancamano, 93, a decorated Korean War veteran, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Pacifica Senior Living in Ocala, FL. William, better known as Bill, was born on March 3, 1931 in NY, NY. Bill grew up in Brooklyn, NY and after graduating High School enlisted with the United States Navy, where he became a member of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) a United States Navy special forces unit (now known as the Navy Seals). Bill proudly served for the duration of the Korean war where he participated in combat operations and was recognized for his bravery. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Bill returned to New York where he was a golden glove boxer, owned a chain of gas stations and held various other positions. Bill and his brother Frank ran a loft theatre in lower Manhattan, and it was there he met his future wife Elizabeth Tallman, an actress.  For much of his adult life, Bill worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, managing the maintenance operations of Newark, LaGuardia, and Kennedy Airports.  In 1995, Bill retired and he and his wife, moved to Citrus Springs, FL. In 2008, Bill and Elizabeth became adoptive parents to their grandchildren, Phoenix and Arianna.  Bill believed in living life to the fullest. He was a PADI Master Diver/Instructor, licensed pilot, avid golfer, golf course manager and archery champion. Bill spent considerable time volunteering to benefit his community: he was a mentor to numerous students in the local district, a member of wildlife rescue and worked for over 20 years as a diver with Homosassa Animal Park, where he and his dive partner “Frenchie” not only worked with the resident manatees, but engaged in wild manatee rescues. Bill will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Ian Biancamano and Billy Biancamano and his brother, Frank Biancamano.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Elizabeth Biancamano; his son Keith Biancamano, Manhattan Beach, CA; his daughter, Laura Smith, Citrus Springs, FL; his grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Gabriella, William, Phoenix, and Arianna and his nephews, Pip Biancamano, and John Biancamano.
