CHURCH - Yolande Church, a long-time resident of Rainbow Springs, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday the 14th of July, at Legacy House.
Born in 1925 in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada), Yolande married Hugh N. Church in 1949, and they settled in Toronto. In 1967, they moved to Miami, Florida with their three children. Following Hugh’s retirement from the Exxon Corp. in 1984, they moved to a home in Rainbow Springs, where they enjoyed 27 more wonderful years together.
Yolande loved her home, her accomplishments in needlepoint, her friends and especially her family, who brought her great joy and comfort all of her life.
She is survived by her husband Hugh, her daughters Suanne St. Charles of Boston, MA., Carolyn Morton (Rob) of Whitby, ON., her son John Church (Terri) of Denver, CO., her grandchildren Christy Bhatnagar (Brandon), Shannon Morton, Travis Morton, Dylan Church, Davis Church, her great-grandchildren Ani Bhatnagar, and Sam Bhatnagar, and her sister Heather Blount (Robert) of Peterborough, ON.
A Memorial Service will be held at Dunnellon Presbyterian Church, on Monday, July 18th at 11:00am, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship center. A celebration of Yolanda’s life will follow at a later date, in Whitby, Ontario, Canada.
Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to Legacy House, 9502 SW 110th St., Ocala (www.hospiceofmarion.com) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
