Betty L. Terwilliger Collins, 91, of Dunnellon, died May 5, 2022 at Vitas Healthcare Hospice House in Lecanto. She was born on August 2, 1930 in Middletown, New York, to the late Julian Raymond and Gladys Stevens Terwilliger.
Mrs. Collins started her career as a bookkeeper for Orange County Trust Bank in New York. She then worked for and retired from Gilman’s Cleaners in New York and Systems Coordination Incorporated (SCI) in Crystal River.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon, the Naomi Circle at the Church, Xi Nu Delta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi (Dunnellon) and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Her husband, her oldest son and two sisters preceded her in death. Surviving family includes her children Steven Collins and Kathleen Collins of Dunnellon; Grandchildren Meredith Russo (New York); Von (Gillian) Collins (North Carolina) and George R. Collins (Dunnellon); Great-Grandchildren Devin Geer and Arionna Russo of New York and Sister Rayella Beaudin of Dunnellon.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Eddie Fulford of the First United Methodist Church and Debbie Wright of Deborah’s Heart Ministry will be held the next day, Thursday, May 12, at 11 am in the Chapel at Roberts Funeral Home
Private interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
