Charlotte passed in Ocala, FL on December 21st at 91. Charlotte’s parents were Albert Knapp and Flora Tyler of Homer. She graduated from Homer High School in 1947. Charlotte met Donald Osbeck while working at the Cortland Cooperative Extension Office. Don and Charlotte operated a dairy farm in South Cortland, and then in Virgil for many years. In retirement they lived on Little York Lake in the summer and wintered in Betmar Estates in Zephyrhills, FL.
Charlotte was an active member of many organizations over the years, including the Grange, Moose Club, Virgil Fire Auxiliary, Homer Senior Center, Lime Hollow Nature Center and the Red Hat Society. In her 50s, she took up painting and earned membership in the prestigious Historical Society of Early American Decoration. She left many beautiful objects of art for her family.
Her husband Donald predeceased her, as well as her sister June Flint, and stepdaughter Janet Warner. Surviving family include Judy Grago of Annville, PA; Jon Ingersoll of Binghamton; Thomas Osbeck of Las Vegas; Sue Clark of Dunnellon, FL; nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. Interment will be at Cortland Rural Cemetery.
