Chris Kinnebrew Baker, 97, of Dunnellon passed away July 28, 2022 at Cates’ House Hospice of Marion County. She was born on June 18, 1925 in Bell, FL to the late Edgar and Josie Langford. For the past 68 years, Chris has been a Dunnellon resident; 66 of those years she resided on The Granada in the home she built with her first husband Melvin Kinnebrew. She owned and operated several businesses including the Western Auto and Rainbow Lakes Texaco Service Center.
Chris enjoyed many years of retirement, during which time she volunteered at her church, at Romeo Elementary School, and for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, playing cards, board games, and was an avid Rummikub player. Above all else she loved and enjoyed her family and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband, Phil Baker.
She is survived by her children: Dorothy Kinnebrew, Jim Kinnebrew (Sandy), Patti Hall (Wayne), Traci Ripple (Bobby) and stepsons Arthur Baker (Julie), and Craig Baker (Pam), her sister Geri Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon on July 31st at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cates House or the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon.
