Dorothy S. Decker, age 104, passed away surrounded by family on May 21, 2022. Born on May 15, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Baldwin Shields and Evelyn Stutts. She was preceded in the death by her husband Warren Kyler Decker; and siblings, Ellie Tullis and Manny Stutts. Loving mother of Judy (Douglas) Smith and Warren K. (Cindi) Decker, Jr.; cherished grandmother of Kylie (Christopher) Malesic, Rhyan (Michaela) Smith, Alex Decker, and Michael (Alina) Decker; great-grandmother of Teddy, Abbi, Emmi, Adam and David; also survived by her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, Ellie, Stuart and David Tullis, Van, Shields, and Danny Stutts.
Dorothy worked as a secretary at Tyndall Field, Florida, where she dated Clark Gable, and later met and married her husband, Warren. Dorothy was an avid golfer at Youghiogheny Country Club. She enjoyed volunteering her time at many hospitals and was a member of many women's clubs and Bridge Clubs. She traveled the world with her many friends. Her favorite things were Bridge, bourbon, bacon and chocolate. She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11 AM in Dunnellon Memorial Gardens, Dunnellon, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
