Dorothy Scott was a caring wife, mother, sister and friend. She passed away on April 12th, 2021 at age 61 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her closest loved ones.
She was born to George and Dorothy Brown on February 25th, 1960. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in early childhood education at the University of Florida and served as a beloved elementary school teacher for 25 years. Dorothy shared her passion for learning and education with countless students over the years.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Titus, son TJ; her sisters, Annie, Georgia, Barbara, Kathy and brother Tommy. She was also an avid animal lover and is survived by her feline children, Macy and Ash. She will be remembered for her selfless and generous personality that always drove her to put others first. Dorothy would always do everything within her power to help people and animals alike.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, FL 34431 on Friday, April 16th at 7:00 pm. Seating to the service will be limited to family and close friends, however open house visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:45 pm for any and all other visitors wishing to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research OR to the Peggy Adams animal rescue league to honor her battle with cancer or dedication to animals.
