Beloved Husband, Brother & Friend
Douglas Arnold passed away on July 16, 2023 following an extended illness. He was born in Vancouver, Washington on July 11, 1947 to Tople Arnold and Neva McDowell Arnold.
Doug grew up in Poulsbo, Washington and, after high school, started working for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. He later moved to the Seattle area where he met and married Paulette Dige in 1984. Doug’s job took them to California and then to Florida where Doug worked for the Supervisor of Shipbuilding at Mayport Naval Station until his retirement in 2009. The highlight of Doug’s career was a 5 year assignment to Naples, Italy, where he and Paulette were able to travel and experience many different countries and cultures. Doug loved outdoor sports and, in his younger years, was an avid jogger, snow skier and mountain biker. He and Paulette loved boating and spent most of their free time on the water.
Left to cherish his memory is Paulette, his loving wife of 39 years; his brother, Ken Arnold (Jeanette) of Hansville, WA; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vici & Robert Angwin of Everett, WA; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Andrea & Dan Hull of Maple Valley, WA; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great nephews and 1 great niece.
We will miss you, Doug! We will keep you in our hearts until we meet again.
