Earl W. Hamblen

Earl W. Hamblen, 95, died on Friday, March 18, 2022 while under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL. He was born into this life on December 11, 1926 in Ft. Meyers, FL and was the son to the late, Herbert and Sarah (Webster) Hamblen. In 1962, Earl moved to Ocala from Miami and then to Hernando in 1977. While in Ocala he started his own company, Earl Hamblen Construction. Earl served our country proudly in the United States Navy and was a WWII Veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre. Earl enjoyed carpentry work and flying his seaplane he owned while living in Miami. He served for many years as an ordained  Deacon with the Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal River. His physical presence will be greatly missed but never forgotten as one day we will see him and enjoy his company in the full presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Earl is preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Alan Hamblen, Jr., Franklin Hamblen and his sister, Jessie Ruth Isenbletter.

He leaves behind his wife of forty five years, Joye Hamblen, Hernando, FL; his children, Anne Elizabeth Hamblen, Brooksville, FL, William Robert Lown, Ocala, FL, Tracy Lown Farthing, Jacksonville, FL, and David Weston Hamblen (Andi), Gainesville, FL; his brother, Lawrence Owen Hamblen (Laura), Wasilla,AK; his grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, William, Joshua, Mollie; his twelve great grandchildren and countless of nieces and nephew he loved. 

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Crystal River, FL, 700 N. Citrus Ave., Crystal River, FL 34428.  There will be a public viewing held one hour prior to service time at the church. A light reception to follow. After the reception in the church, there will be a funeral procession to Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL  where military honors will take place starting at 1:30 PM.
