Eleanor Rhea Raw (nee Ewing), 78 of Dunnellon, FL passed away on September 19, 2019 after a battle with severe pulmonary hypertension. She was born on June 8th, 1941 in Easton PA, to Maskell and Eleanor Ewing. As a graduate of Wilson High School in Easton, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education at Baldwin-Wallace College and taught health and physical education at Berea High School for three years and 27 years in Medina at Ella Canavan Elementary. In 1995 she and her husband moved to Rainbow Springs in Dunnellon, FL where they enjoyed retirement to the fullest. A leader, a rock, and one never known for her filter, Rhea always brought light into a room and smiles to those that interacted with her. If she wasn’t organizing an event, crafting decorations, or golfing, she was always on the move. Rhea adored her family/friends as she touched many lives and she will truly be missed.
Rhea is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rich; her daughter, Debbie of Atlanta, GA and her son, Jeff and his wife Liz of Atlanta, GA; her granddaughter, Marley; her sister Georgie and her husband Mackie Skinner of Baytown, TX.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon at 21501 West Highway 40, Dunnellon, FL 34431 at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Rhea prefers memorial contributions go to Hospice of Marion County to give relief and peace to others.
