Ellen Twombly-Nail (80)

Ellen (A.K.A. Bunny) was born in Westbrook, Maine and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the age of 12. She graduated from Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale and was a devout Catholic who was a big supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy with Alex Trebek and doing crossword puzzles.

Ellen married her husband, Larry, in 1960. She retired from her occupation as a legal assistant to raise her family of four children together with Larry. She moved with her family to Dunnellon, Florida in 1984 and settled in Rainbow Lakes Estates. She passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 peacefully in her sleep. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wilson Nail.

She is survived by her four children (Kevin Nail, Kelly Michalowski, Kimberly (Erinn) Dewitt, and Kristopher Nail), their spouses (John Michalowski, Eddie Dewitt, and Nikki Nail), her six grandchildren and their spouses (Brian Michalowski, Eddie Dewitt II, Jamie & Sam Sevor, Korien & Jordan Stiehl, Kristopher Nail II, and Brea & Seth Robertson), and her four great-grandchildren (Brooke, Adalynn, Oliver, and Pearce and one on the way).

The memorial service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Ellen’s memory to VITAS Hospice: P.O. Box 1330, Lecanto, FL 34460, and if mailing a check, please include Ellen’s name on the bottom memo line.
